The effect of electronic prescribing on medication errors and adverse drug events: a systematic review.

This review analyzed how computerized physician order entry (CPOE) affects the incidence of adverse drug events and medication errors. Although electronic prescribing seemed to reduce the risk of such errors, the authors suggest that additional research include a broader array of geographical and clinical settings.
