Surgical resident well-being is paramount to ensuring safe surgical care and a healthy workforce. This website shares information on the Surgical Education Culture Optimization through targeted interventions based on National comparative Data (SECOND) Trial. The program builds on the results of the FIRST trial. The SECOND trial works with programs to design opportunities for improvement. Environmental assessments sharing program-generated data will inform site specific toolkits and change implementation support for participating institutions.
