The impact of the 80-hour work week on appropriate resident case coverage.
Shin S, Britt R, Doviak M, Britt LD. J Surg Res. 2010;162:33-36.

The newly proposed resident work hour regulations do not call for further reductions in duty hours, in part due to concerns about loss of operating experience for surgical residents. However, this study found that surgical residents maintained an adequate operative case volume over the 3 years following the implementation of duty hour regulations in 2003.
