Triangulating case-finding tools for patient safety surveillance: a cross-sectional case study of puncture/laceration.
Taylor JA, Gerwin D, Morlock L, Miller MR. Inj Prev. 2011;17:388-393.

This study found that four existing case detection tools, including the AHRQ Patient Safety Indicators, capture different events when compared. Similar to a past study, the authors advocate for a strategy combining detection methods rather than relying on a single tool.
