Cognitive balanced model: a conceptual scheme of diagnostic decision making.

Diagnostic errors are often attributed to clinicians' cognitive biases. This study develops a balanced model of the diagnostic process, one that incorporates both cognitive factors and technological factors, in order to inform strategies for reducing diagnostic errors.
