The effects of work-hour limitations on resident well-being, patient care, and education in an internal medicine residency program.
Goitein L, Shanafelt TD, Wipf JE, Slatore CG, Back AL. Arch Intern Med. 2005;165:2601-2606.

The investigators surveyed internal medicine residents on the perceived effects of Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) work-hour limitations. Results showed that residents thought the limitations benefited their well-being, but they also thought the limitations had a negative effect on both patient care and resident education.
