Inappropriate surgeries resulting from misdiagnosis of early amyotrophic lateral sclerosis.

The investigators analyzed medical records of patients with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). They discovered that, prior to diagnosis, some patients had surgery for issues that in retrospect were signs of early ALS.
