Computerized provider order entry adoption: implications for clinical workflow.

Prior studies have demonstrated unintended consequences associated with implementing computerized provider order entry (CPOE) systems. This qualitative study used direct observation and interviews to characterize the types of work flow disruptions associated with CPOE.
