Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) infections are a persistent challenge in hospitals. This project supports the implementation of targeted healthcare-acquired infection prevention initiatives in intensive care units, non-intensive care units, surgical services, and long-term care facilities across the United States, building on the Comprehensive Unit-based Safety Program (CUSP) concept. The first of three planned toolkits, Toolkit for MRSA Prevention in ICU & Non-ICU Settings, is now available. A second toolkit focused on high-risk surgical services is planned for spring 2025, and a third toolkit focused on long-term care settings is anticipated in fall 2025.
