This study used digitally videotaped recordings from a trauma room to examine the effectiveness of communication from physicians to other team members. Investigators evaluated more than 200 resuscitations and discovered that communication was audible only half the time and understandable even less. The authors advocate for greater emphasis on communication skills in structured training programs and quality improvement initiatives.
