Critical incident stress management (CISM) is a peer support program that has previously been utilized to help firefighters, police officers, paramedics, soldiers, and air traffic managers cope with traumatic events. This study describes the application of a CISM program in a European general hospital, which resulted in favorable effects on safety culture.
