The relationship between value and patient safety interventions is receiving increased attention. Set in the United Kingdom, researchers used an online survey to evaluate public perception and value regarding harm prevention in healthcare settings (e.g., healthcare-acquired infections, medication administration errors) versus other contexts, such as individual harms (e.g., sports-related injuries) or nature (i.e., genetic disorders). Findings suggest that individual value placed on different safety-related interventions depends on context.
