The quality of communication between members of the healthcare team is an important aspect of patient safety. The study found that greater frequency of contact between nurse leaders and members of their team was associated with better patient safety culture. Supporting stronger relationships between clinical team leaders and members could contribute to improvement in patient safety in hospitals.
