Crisis resource management skills can help teams perform safely during adverse situations. This commentary describes a crisis resource management course that utilized simulation and observational learning to develop nontechnical skills in emergency medicine interns. Trainees displayed improvements in a variety of teamwork behaviors including leadership, communication, and situational awareness.
