A culture of safety enables open discussion of concerns and ideas without negative repercussions. Analyzing the evidence on organizational characteristics that create psychological safety, this review spotlights the importance of leadership in establishing trust and demonstrating ethical behaviors that foster psychological safety in health care settings.
