A human factors framework and study of the effect of nursing workload on patient safety and employee quality of working life.

This study applied a human factors model to nursing workload and found interesting relationships between workload types and outcomes. For instance, medication errors may be predicted by task-level workload, whereas dissatisfaction may be by unit-level workload.
