This study reports the results of a literature review and expert panel process intended to assess the relative importance of different types of adverse drug events for hospitalized patients. Hospital pharmacy leaders were asked to complete a survey that will inform development of a prediction model for identifying preventable adverse drug events. The panel concluded that all types of events under consideration merit inclusion in the prediction tool under development.
