Improving Hospital Handoffs Using AHRQ's Surveys on Patient Safety Culture Hospital Survey.

Handoffs are susceptible to relational factors affected by organizational culture. This session highlighted the use of Surveys on Patient Safety Culture ™ (SOPS®) Hospital Survey to inform handoff improvement efforts. Presenters described strategies for administering the SOPS Survey at their organization and explained how their survey results and SOPS resources are currently used to improve handoffs in medical-surgical units.
