This exploratory study discovered that the top risk management issues related to post-anesthesia care unit (PACU) nurses were clinical judgment, administrative, and communication concerns. While administrative and clinical judgment concerns existed in the day surgery unit as well, behavior factors with patient compliance also were identified.
