Peer support in anesthesia: turning war stories into wellness.

Clinicians involved in medical error benefit from support of their peers and organizations. This review discusses approaches to providing assistance to and restoring the well-being of second victims. The authors emphasize the value of overarching policy changes to provide the foundation needed for sustained improvement once support programs are introduced.
