Putting knowledge into practice: does information on adverse drug interactions influence people's dosing behaviour?

Dohle S, Dawson IGJ. British journal of health psychology. 2017;22:330-344.

This simulation study provided participants with differing information about medication adverse effects and drug–drug interactions and examined whether they would consider the medication appropriate to take. Providing information about additive versus synergistic risk of harm did not change participants' perceptions of which drug to receive. These results underscore the challenges of educating the public about medication safety.
