The Second Victim Experience and Support Tool (SVEST) was developed to assist organizations in identifying and supporting "second victims" of patient safety incidents. This review analyzes current use, application, validation, and limitations associated with the SVEST. Results suggest the tool is generally a reliable and valid tool, but further research and modifications could improve validity and reliability.
