This study analyzed a national database of patients with hip fractures to demonstrate that morbidity was increased in the years following implementation of ACGME work hour restrictions. While these findings were seen in both teaching and nonteaching settings, and there was no relationship with changes in mortality, the association appeared to be accelerated in the teaching setting.
