This implementation study sought to reduce incidence of pressure ulcers in hospitalized patients using a multimodal intervention that included providing performance data, training, and implementation support. Rates of severe (stages III and IV) ulcers declined in participating facilities, demonstrating that a quality improvement model can enhance patient safety.
