Variations in the administration of high-alert drugs can facilitate errors that result in patient harm. This project report outlines how a health system integrated chemotherapy order sets into a multisite computerized provider order entry system. The rate of medication errors decreased by 75%. The authors outline lessons learned such as the importance of engaging interprofessional stakeholders and improving workflow prior to implementing the system.
