Views of children, parents, and health-care providers on pediatric disclosure of medical errors.

This focus group study examined pediatric patients', parents', and health care providers' attitudes about disclosure of medical errors. While children and their parents emphasized the importance of error disclosure, health care providers focused on the disclosure process and raised concerns about adverse consequences of disclosure. These results echo earlier studies demonstrating a gap between patient preferences and clinician concerns around disclosure.
