Redesigning rounds in the ICU: standardizing key elements improves interdisciplinary communication.

The authors describe the development and implementation of a toolkit for standardizing rounds across seven ICUs at a single academic medical center. Consistent with prior research, they found that this structured approach led to overall improved communication and better engagement of nurses on rounds.
