Barriers and facilitators to implementing a process to enable parent escalation of care for the deteriorating child in hospital.
Gill FJ, Leslie GD, Marshall AP. Health Expect. 2018;21:1095-1103.

Investigators studied the implementation of a parent escalation of care process in a pediatric hospital. Although there was support for the process among staff, barriers included a low level of parent awareness of the process and concerns about parents' abilities to accurately identify clinical concerns.
