Use of paediatric early warning systems in Great Britain: has there been a change of practice in the last 7 years?

Although only a minority of British children's hospitals had a formal rapid response team, this survey found that most used some type of system (based on abnormal vital sign criteria) to identify patients at risk of acute clinical decompensation. However, most of these "early warning" systems have not been appropriately validated.
