Using AHRQ's Patient Safety Indicators (PSIs), investigators discovered that male veterans received comparable care in both Veterans Affairs (VA) and non-VA facilities. The authors advocate for further research into the use of PSIs, particularly around whether they should be applied to a health care system, a geographically defined network, or an individual hospital.
