Ambulance stretcher adverse events.

This study analyzed more than 670 reported adverse events during ambulance transport and discovered that stretcher collapse was the most common cause. While events occurred mostly during unloading of the stretcher from the ambulance, injuries ranged from mild sprains to traumatic brain injuries and death.
