Effective leadership is essential for improving organizational safety. This systematic review examined the influence of different leadership styles on patient safety culture and quality of care. The authors found evidence suggesting that transformational leadership has a positive effect on safety culture but its impact on quality of care is mediated through other factors such as organizational culture and job satisfaction.
