Healthcare workers who are fatigued or sleep-deprived may be more likely to commit medical errors. This scoping review examines the state of the evidence regarding the relationship between sleep deprivation among nurses and medication administration errors. Based on 18 included studies, the authors conclude that insufficient experimental or observational evidence exists supporting a relationship between sleep duration and medication errors.
