Numerous studies have shown physician implicit bias in diagnosis and treatment of patients in the emergency department. This systematic review examines and summarizes nine studies that measured physician implicit bias using the Implicit Association Test. Findings suggest that, while physicians demonstrate an implicit bias towards white patients, their clinical decision making does not appear to be impacted.
